Native variety of the USA, resulting from the cross between "Brandywine" and "Marizol purple" realized by Joe Bratka of New Jersey at the end of the years 1980. Presented to the Seed Savers Yearbook in 1995 under the name of "Bratka Purple".

Large, dark pink, beefsteak-like fruit weighing 250 to 500 grams, some of which can reach a kilo. Flattened beefsteak-like fruit with waving or even curved shoulders and a pronounced ribbing. Deep depression at the peduncular attachment.

Firm, full and juicy beef flesh. Mild flavor, low acidity, well balanced.

Like any self-respecting "Brandywine": potato foliage!
