DAVID'S IVORY PINEAPPLE

An "off-type" variety with seeds from "Green Pineapple"... Fruit weighing 150 to 300 grams.

SKU: 2288 Category:

An 'off-type' variety from seeds of 'Green Pineapple', grown at David Lemasters, Pennsylvania. Probably an accidental cross between 'Green Pineapple' and a white variety, this cross also produced another cultivar: 'David's Golden Pineapple'.

The fruit weighs 150-300 grams and is beefsteak-like, flattened at the poles, more or less ribbed at the top and with rounded or even curved shoulders when the size becomes large.

The skin is pale yellow, becoming more pronounced as it matures, with light green shoulders that do not become coloured until they are fully ripe, sometimes with a slight pinkish blush. Very large corky depression at the stem attachment.

Fleshy, juicy, yellow beefy flesh, sometimes with pink marbling in the centre. Sweet and refreshing taste.

Large plant, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.

Mid-season production.
