Variety heirloom originating in Italy. It is Steve Picone, Italian immigrant in the USA, who cultivated and developed it during many years in Massachusetts, in the years 1930, naming it simply "Oxheart". It has been preserved and cultivated by his family since that time and until today.
Red fruit with yellowish shoulders of 200 to 500 grams of heart-shaped type of tapering to blunt.
Flesh of very dense beef, with the very good flavor. Variety well adapted to the drying as well as for the preparation of sauce and coulis but also excellent to consume fresh.
Plant with great development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Good mid-season production.
